Los Angeles Traffic Royally Sucks

Now that we adjusted our clocks again due to the Daylight Savings Time, I have been experiencing a daily increase in my evening traffic time. For a week now, it has taken me over 90 minutes to get home. I'm just so fed up of this traffic. It's taking a toll on me. I get home all angry with more stressed added to my poor back. I don't have the time to cook, so we eat junk food. I'm also tired from the traffic and I haven't gone out for an evening walk around the park.

This traffic is taxing. Those who know me know what my solution is, but for my own security, I'll keep it my mouth shut on this blog.

I'm out.

Sadly, the truth about traffic is that there's no magic bullet for reducing it.

Reducing traffic takes a holistic approach. Personally, I would include:

Urban planning, to bring denser commercial zones closer to residential.

Transport deregulation and reform, to allow organized carpooling to compete against public transit and taxi services.

I would also include various economic incentives for businesses, to encourage self-employment, to encourage them to move near residential areas, and to encourage them to stagger their employees' work hours in order to reduce the number of vehicles on the road during peak hours.

Pingu--that is when it snows in MTL. When it rains here, it takes John 3 hours to get home! It is utterly ridiculous!
I can't imagine how Californians would handle a drive in the snow storm like the ones in MTL.
