Just a few more days to go and here I am, being told that I am as big as a basketball. Let's see if that is true. What do you think? Don't be afraid to speak your mind. You know I can take it. Bring it!

It's all relative!

I blame Global Warming
It started warming up in Los Angeles and I think it's getting to the dogs. Rudy was so out of it the other day. The AC wasn't on, but the fans were. I started off by putting some ice packs on his belly. He loved it so much, he stayed in that position (see picture) for at least 15 minutes! Later, when the ice packs melted, I took my Chillow and had him lie on it. The Chillow is one of the best things I ever bought!!! Check it out here! Linda's got one too. Ask her about it...! We all love it!

Count Down: 6.....
Okay, so I didn't sleep much last night, as my Braxton Hicks Contractions were happening more often and a bit closer. I had to time them.... so I was pretty much awake most the first part of the night. I'm not ready to be admitted to the hospital yet, but I think this is the last stretch of my first pregnancy. Who knows, maybe Chris Capili's wish will come true and this baby will be a true patriotic American by being born on July 4th! Oh well... we'll just have to wait and see.

Visiting John at work
Last Friday, I met up with John at his work for lunch...and on our way back, I hung around his office for a while, playing Street Fighter 4. I'm not good, I tell ya, but hey! it was still fun!
Oh! That picture of me---I was hiding a HUGE pimple I had on the chin. It was really not fancy! Not at all! All this excess pregnancy hormones results into a pizza face.

Counting.....9.....
Here we go... 9 days to go... John's mom thinks that because this is our first child and because it is a baby girl, I will most probably be giving birth late. Do I really believe in these myths? Not so much. I once believed that if your belly grows more towards the front, rather than sideways, you'd be expecting a baby boy. As it turns out, my belly grew more to the front and 5 different health professional confirmed to me that I was expecting a baby girl! The funniest comment was made by a saleslady in a Chinese bookstore last week. She asked me if I was expecting a baby girl or a baby boy. I asked her to guess and she guessed right. Then, I asked her what was her guess based on and she replied: "Because your skin is really white. If you were expecting a baby boy, you'd be darker!" WTF?, I thought. That is so much Bull Shit! That's when I knew how much BS was out there in regards to the guessing the gender of your expecting baby! Bull shit to the MAX!

Fatty Fat Fat
Counting.....10....
Here I am... My Ngoc Hang, pregnant at over 38 weeks. I have to say that the pregnancy went pretty well all throughout the last 9 months. I honestly can't complain at all. All I am waiting for right now is the labor and delivery part of my baby girl. This is the part that I am dredding for months, trying not to think about it. It is the one thing that I can not prepare myself for, regardless of how many stories my friends share with me or how many birth videos I watch. Yes I am scared, but since I have about 10 days to go, I will not freak out yet, until I'm heading to the hospital. Let's hope all goes well in these last 10 days. Let's also hope that my baby girl is as ponctual as her parents are. I think I will start bitching if this baby is late. 40 weeks is plenty. I don't need to be pregnant any longer than that! Don't you agree? Ha Ha Ha!

California Highway Patrol

Last Wednesday, I brought my car to the California Highway Patrol office in Monterey Park to have my baby car seat installation inspected. As the due date approaches, I want to get as ready as possible and obviously, the safety of my child is important. I found out that it was a free service, where a certified California Sheriff inspects the baby car seat and informs you of the Do's and Don'ts of travelling with a child in the car. It turned out to be very informative. I'm glad I went! If you want more information about California Child Safety Laws, click here.

My Baby Shower

Helen and Brian Yam hosted my baby shower on Sunday. John and I had such a good time! There was plenty of good food. There were games (I didn't win any---though I get to call Janet a dork now for winning at a game!) But most importantly, our friends were there to share this happy moment with us. We look forward to parenthood. Can't wait till Kanga Wu is born! You'll get to meet the little B-I-T-C-H-like-me growing in me for 10 months!
I wish my family was here to share this with us...My sisters did get their presents to me at the Baby Shower--That was a pleasant surprise! Thanks sistahs!
Check out the pictures our friend Sunni took that afternoon. The pictures are beautiful! Better than my wedding pictures, I tell ya!
Enjoy the pictures!
